Rigid Cummerbunds | HPC® Plate Carrier | HEXATAC
Our Rigid Cummerbunds were designed to offer a lightweight, rigid and comfortable solution for operators who tend to load up their cummerbunds.
When you order on this page, you will receive :
2 symmetrical cummerbunds, identical and in the size you selected, plus a length of thick elastic cord.
Size
Hexatac Rigid Cummerbunds are available in 2 sizes : Medium and Large. Choose your usual size – if in doubt, you will find realistic visuals of our cummerbunds below.
For Medium cummerbunds, for example, the total length of the two cummerbunds end to end is 101 cm (40 in). That is roughly the minimum setting. You can fine-tune the exact size of your cummerbunds with the included elastic cord (see overview video) and reach a size of up to 130 cm (51 in).
This elastic cord also lets you adjust the firmness of the hold of your cummerbunds by making a single pass for a softer hold, or two or more passes for a firm hold.
Modularity
Our Rigid Cummerbunds feature two rows of MOLLE loops. Thanks to the composite skeleton (the same type as in our HMB® Battle Belts), these two rows are plenty, even for carrying radios, side armor plates etc.
You’ll find MOLLE on the outside but also on the inside, which allows mounting gear on both sides of the cummerbunds, and even simultaneously in the same location.
Loop Velcro on the inner face lets you anchor armor plate pouches and use various Velcro inserts.
Assembly
On the HPC®2 Plate Carrier or any other plate carrier compatible with 3-row skeleton cummerbunds, you can choose between two mounting positions : a high position and a low position.
As a general rule, we recommend mounting your Hexatac Rigid Cummerbunds in the low position at the back and high position at the front (see overview video). This will keep your plate carrier in the right position to properly cover your vital areas with your ballistic protection.
Installation
Therear anchoring of our Rigid Cummerbunds is done using the elastic cord provided. Simply lace it alternately left and right according to the size and tension you want. If you mount our Rigid Cummerbunds on our HPC®2 Plate Carrier, you can lace through the central vertical loops to keep your cummerbunds perfectly centered.
Closure
At the front, the cummerbunds close with Velcro panels. These even let you lock your plate carrier onto the front of your HMCR® for example. Opening is made easier by the sewn-on tabs at the ends of the Velcro closure panels.
Quick-release kits are in development, but in the meantime, our Rigid Cummerbunds allow for a simple, effective quick-release system (see overview video).

I wanted to comment on this product to add a little feedback and help as best I can
[...]I bought these cummerbunds for their ergonomics, especially their elastic tightening system at the back, which is supposed to provide optimal support. Unfortunately, even though I went with a size M, my small build forces me to tighten them all the way, which defeats the purpose and makes the bands overlap at the back, which isn’t ideal. So I sent them back, although I think it’s a shame given the quality of the product and how clever the system is. Maybe a size S would be the solution. (That said, I’ll add that the versatility of the HPC plate carrier let me find the perfect configuration for my taste, which is a plus)
